Spring’s arrival means it’s time for spring-cleaning our bodies as well as our houses. After a few months of consuming heavier, denser foods, it’s time for us to cleanse our systems and rev our internal engines. We often feel sluggish in early spring, as our bodies want to shake off the extra weight of winter and come out of hibernation. Spring is a time to significantly increase our intake of greens, as they support the shedding of systemic debris. Asparagus, watercress, artichokes, baby and bitter greens of all kinds, pea shoots, and other green vegetables are all full of regenerative and cleansing energy.
